San Fermo is one of my favorite spots in Seattle. Everything's made with locally sourced ingredients, and it makes a huge difference! The pasta is unreal, and the staff is warm and welcoming.

Fantastic ambiance, great service, and some pretty good food! This is a pretty popular restaurant for a nicer/fancier dinner, and it is recommended frequently by others. We made a reservation for a table of 5 and were promptly seated upstairs in a cool room. Starting with drinks, we all got the house mocktail which was really light and refreshing - so good! We also got the burrata, salad, chickpea flatbread, and olives for appetizers to share. I particularly liked the salad, and the pistachio spread on the burrata was also fantastic. For mains, we shared the saffron bolognese, cavatelli, risotto, duck, and one other that was tomato-sauce based with bacon bits. While I wasn't a fan of the risotto (due to the gameyness of the lamb), I did enjoy the rest of the pastas! They were all cooked al dente and I think the tomato sauce ones were particularly good. Definitely make a reservation if you want to eat here - its very packed and popular!

San Fermo is a favorite of mine when I used to live in Ballard. Even though I no longer live in Seattle I always have to come back for a meal. Some seasonal items are better than others and there are usual constants to their items with a flair of seasonality. The burrata is always consistent and a go-to option. This time was extra good because of the pistachio butter - someone has to jar this up because I would buy it and put it on everything! The farinata is still lacking in flavor and I would probably not order a third time. As for the main dish, this time I opted for a Paccheri all'Amatriciana to give guanciale (pork cheek) a try. The pasta and sauce were great, but definitely couldn't be had on its own. However the pork cheek was too oily and meaty for me. I think personally pork cheek is just not for me - if I order an item on the menu with this again, I would ask for a substitution. The sweet potato gnocchi this time was also ordinary and lacking a core flavor. It was topped with bread crumbs which adds to the texture, but due to the choice in shape of the gnocchi it wasn't enough texture in each bite. Even though this season's menu wasn't my favorite, I would still return because I generally enjoy their fresh pasta and appetizers. I just wish that there were more main dishes that can be easily modified. Also, please bring back the rotolo!

Such a cute little house wedged in the middle of Ballard! We managed to get in between reservations. Ordered a Caesar salad, bolognese, and a tiramisu. The food took a bit to come out but it was pretty worth the wait The Caesar was really good! Just a bit too vinegary for my taste. I liked that the croutons were wine soaked! Super unique. 9/10 The pasta was a little undercooked and the sauce a bit salty but the flavors were super cohesive and I really enjoyed it! 8/10 I think the real star of the meal was the tiramisu. The portion size was big, it wasn't too soggy, and they even sprinkled some sea salt on top which enhanced the chocolate/espresso flavors. Would come again just for the tiramisu. 10/10

San Fermo has been on my list for years. Finally, with a friend visiting from out of town, I found myself in Ballard and we snagged a reservation! Highly recommend sitting outside if the weather is warm - it was quite nice. Our appetizer, drinks, and pasta dishes were delicious and the ambience was super cozy. I definitely look forward to coming back!

We had a great time at San Fermo! We sat outside on the heated patio and they provided blankets so it was surprisingly pleasant. We ordered the following: Baguette - great butter, yum bread Burrata - possibly my favorite dish of the evening. Great textures and flavors and the burrata was extremely fresh and light. Bolognese - exactly what you'd expect from a well made bolognese but the saffron was an unexpected and fun way to elevate the dish. Risotto - mushrooms were yummy but the dish needed a bit more salt and perhaps some acidity from a squeeze of lemon or alternatively, some chili oil. Sweet Potato Gnocchi - great textures here! Not as sauce heavy of a dish. Tiramisu - not a tiramisu at all in my opinion. It was more of a slice of cake with a coffee-esque syrup drizzled on top with salt? It was an average dessert. Service was great! But to note, service charge is included in the bill at 23%. Ambience was also lovely.

To start off we had amazing service. Tonight we had the pasta bolognese (highly recommended by our waiter)-- the sauce super salty- like someone added an extra tablespoon of salt to the salty sausage- pasta part was decent. The Cesar salad was delicious. The halibut served over a mashed potatoes and grilled mushrooms. I really liked the mash and the mushrooms. Halibut was a little dry and this one lacked salt. Might have been better to add a small bit of bolognese to the halibut. The burata was delicious. It came with 5 pieces of extra crispy toast and wedges of sweet heirloom tomatoes. The risotto was cooked with mushrooms. It was the best dish overall. Also our waiter took off the salty bolognese-- which I'm sure is more delicious on other days. We left with full bellies.

Just left San Fermo and I'm barely walking straight because the drinks here are dangerously good. Bartender's got a heavy hand, but I'm not complaining. We tried the Little Red Riding Hood and the Show and Tell, which both tasted amazing. Food was even better than the drinks. We got a farinata to start, and it was savory and crispy. It came with two spreads (a cheese one and a fruity one), which both complemented it really well. I got the risotto that came with mussels and my friends shared a cavatelli. Both were flavorful and delicious. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. For dessert (shout out to David), we had the Earl Grey tiramisu. It was rich with a bright flavor, and the sea salt on top was just *chef's kiss*. Service was great, staff were attentive and friendly, and Shelly (the bartender) was funny. We'll be back for sure!
